It remains the market leader for German income tax returns, spanning desktop, web, and mobile, and goes deeper than app-first rivals on complex situations — freelancers, landlords, investors.
Its automation stack reads receipts via Steuer-Scan, imports bank data to auto-fill entries, and — new ahead of the 2026 filing season — answers questions through SteuerGPT, an AI chatbot that explains German tax rules in plain language.
